The Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be,
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Making the Girl Scout Sign:

Girl Scouts make the Girl Scout Sign when they say the Girls Scout Promise. The sign is formed by holding down the thumb and little finger on the right hand, leaving the three middle fingers extended (these three fingers represent the three parts of the Promise).

The Friendship Circle and Squeeze

The Friendship Circle is often formed at the end of the meetings or campfire as a closing ceremony. Everyone gathers in a circle; each girl crosses her right arm over her left and then holds hands with the person on each side of her. Once everyone is silent, one girl starts the friendship squeeze by squeezing the hand of the person to her left. One by one, each girl passes on the squeeze until is travels clockwise around the full circle.

On my honor, I will try

to serve God and my country,

to help other people at all times,

and to live by the Girl Scout Law.
